Meet Steve

Steve grew up in Northeast Ohio. After high school, he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated with Dean’s List honors and a degree in economics before commissioning as an Army infantry officer.

During his military service, Steve earned his Army Ranger tab and Airborne wings. While deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, he led an infantry platoon. Steve earned the Bronze Star Medal for his service. He knows what it means to put his country first and lead from the front.

After serving our nation, Steve built a small business, growing it from three employees to over sixty in just three years. He created jobs, met payrolls, and kept his business afloat through economic uncertainty, COVID, and labor shortages. Now, he helps run multiple small businesses with his family—because he knows firsthand that government should work for job creators, not against them.

As your state representative, Steve has fought to:

✅ Deliver property tax cuts to provide relief for hardworking Ohioans.

✅ Protect fairness in girls’ sports and ensure that only biological girls use women’s locker rooms.

✅ Empower parents by expanding school choice and ensuring they have a voice in their children’s education.

Steve is cutting taxes, defending families, and standing up for Ohio values—because Northeast Ohio deserves a fighter, not another career politician.

Steve and his wife Carly, a former schoolteacher, are raising their three young boys—Steven, Teddy, and James—right here in Northeast Ohio. They are parishioners of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, where Steve serves on the parish council.

Steve has spent his life answering the call to serve—whether leading troops, creating jobs as a small business owner, or fighting for conservative values in the Statehouse. Now, he’s ready to take that fight to the State Senate. With his experience, integrity, and proven leadership, no one is more prepared to deliver for Northeast Ohio than Steve Demetriou.
